Quote from Rinalds: “Personally I don't like these type of designs. Also I don't see very often them. It makes website look more complicated and harder too keep track off. ” Well, I most certainly agree that there's a reason why just about all forums look alike. People tend to dislike anything that breaks from what they are used to. We have received positive responses from our members though, and I think the two column category and clickable sub-forums cleans up the mess of a large category and …

Never had that problem. I run the pro version and with rocket loader it reduced my site's request from near 100 to 40. And it also chopped a few seconds off the load time. One can try the free version. Most people use Cloudlfare dns servers even if they disable the CDN_Proxy. Enjoy, William

  • I ran into trouble with PHP when my host upgraded without informing its users from 7.0.7 to 7.0.9. Anyways, my point in telling this story is that I had to switch back to PHP 5.6 for a day or two. It was unbearable, the site was so slow I could not endure going on it. The speed difference for me is that dramatic. William

It depends on traffic (server load) and other factors. My Cloud hosting is scalable, for a year I ran only 2 cpus and 2 gigs of ram. This month the server scaled up to 7 cpus and 7 gigs of ram. I spent a week reducing page size and the number of requests, and as a result cut the page size to a 3rd of what it was. I went from a page load time of 4-7 seconds to now 1-3 seconds. Now the server is scaled down to 4 cpus and 4 gigs of ram where I plan to keep it. My traffic just requires that much. Po…

  • I'm interested in a domain name. The .com extension of my current domain by which I already own .org and .net. The whole process is rather dismal. On one hand if I show an interest, I'm afraid someone else may be interested or drive up the price. I don't know whether to just chance letting the domain name expire and trying from there. It seems that reserving a place for it in an auction pretty much guarantees that it will sell much higher.

  • It was determined that because I was born in America that I would be named after my American father. The alternative was an Asian naming process, where ones birthday is celebrated 3 months after birth (1 year old after conception). During that time all the gifts are thrown in the air and as they come down the sound is recorded. So my name could of been bongcaching. Just kidding about the naming process. William
