  • Quote from Host Capitol: “There are Forum software such as Simple Machines that have a Moderation log which logs different actions (modifying/deleting/locking a thread for example). As for your other requirement, this particular software also has a built-in user warning system. ” Does that mean it will do the keyword moderation flag? I'm attempting an install since it's free, but I wanna make sure it does that before I play around with it. Quote from Paul: “I don't know of any forum software tha…

  • I dunno if this is the right place for this, so hopefully it can get moved if necessary. Anyways, I'm looking for forum software that will flag posts for moderation. Doesn't actively delete or remove them, just puts them into a mod queue. On top of that, I'm looking for anything that would show a list of actions done to a user. For instance, is User A gets 3 posts removed, 5 posts edited, and 7 posts relocated, I'd like for there to be an easy way to find that. Is there something that does that …

Does your site have a social media page? What does it post? Have you had any success with it? My gaming forums have a Twitter page, and I'm trying a bunch of different things with it. Posting links to specific topics, retweeting, trying to come up with "original" content for Twitter. So far I've seen single-digit clicks to my website, so maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

  • It's the acronym for one of my websites, and I think it makes for an okay handle.

  • Thanks so much @Paul and @meetdilip! I used Photoshop CC 2015, by the way.

Quote from Paul: “@OMDO you're not alone. I think Twitter is just like Facebook with people not wanting to leave the sites to see things elsewhere. I can't remember ever finding a new website because of something posted on Twitter. ” I actually got a ton of traffic when I made and paid for a Facebook Ad, but getting that organic growth on Twitter just seems really hard.

  • Quote from Paul: “Is everything your own design? The characters in the second link too? ” Yup! The only thing I didn't make was the fonts. In the first I found some transparent files for EA Sports and UFC. The second drew and colored the characters.

I've made a twitter for my website, and I'll retweet things and make posts, but it doesn't drive a lot of traffic to my website. That's probably just me not quite understanding how to get a ton of followers, though.

  • Here are some first drafts of podcast album art that I'm doing, if that fits in the theme. Hopefully they aren't too giant. Edit: They were too big. I'm just gonna link to them. Let's Talk About It... Album Art Chokehold Me Closer Album Art

My first website was a site for webcomics that a friend and I made in high school. I was still paying for the domain up until about a year ago.

I think it really depends not just on the posts, but the type of posts. For instance, on my forum I'd like for there to be an emphasis on community, so actually having discussion with each other, quoting, referring to each other by (screen)names, the whole nine yards. I could see a good promo forum not only needing a ton of posts daily, but a welcoming community that you'd want to come to get help. My number goal for my forum would ideally be 20 daily. I don't think it's too crazy to want, but h…

Yeah, I'm all for people other than myself having that passion for the community, so I could see that being super helpful. There is such thing as too much of a good thing, but honestly that would be something where as soon as I saw the pattern of friendly backseat moderating they'd have e-mails and PMs about being an actual moderator.

Quote from Allan: “Sounds like you are having a lot of fun with the wrestling, I hope something becomes of that. ” Same here! Like I said, it's definitely a bucket list goal to run a show, top to bottom, so one of these days it'll happen!

Quote from Allan: “What do you like to do besides gaming? ” Tons of stuff! I'm always tossing around podcast ideas and trying to record, but I can never get someone to keep my schedule, so I end up making a bunch of podcast artwork and outlines that never go past one episode or so. Eventually I'll have a podcast last 6 months, but until then, one episode is the way it is. On top of that, I really like wrestling. Probably too much, but oh well. I find it to be such an interesting medium for story…

Quote from Allan: “First game you ever played? ” I believe that was Star Fox 64, for the Nintendo 64. Still one I come back to often. Quote from spidy: “Your favorite game? ” That's a really hard one. I don't have one single one, but some of my all time are Super Mario 64, Super Mario Maker, Civilization 5, and Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver.
